Thailand Space Expo 2026

Rockets, satellites and the people building Thailand’s space future are heading for Bangkok’s riverside this October. Thailand Space Expo 2026 is billed as the largest international space exhibition and conference in the region, and it lands at one of the city’s most recognisable landmarks.

What is Thailand Space Expo 2026?

Organised by GISTDA, Thailand’s space agency, the expo runs from 28 to 31 October 2026 at ICONSIAM, on the 7th floor. Past editions have drawn more than 10,000 participants, about 37.5% of them international, according to GISTDA.

What to expect

GISTDA describes the expo as a mix of space and geoinformatics innovations, expert talks, business matchmaking and activities for the next generation. The programme, last updated on 22 September, includes sessions on space economy and investment trends, a panel of space agency heads, Thailand’s THEOS-3 satellite, AI across the space economy and space food, plus a Space Debate Challenge on 31 October.

There is a practical side too: the organisers highlight how space technology helps with real-world problems such as precision agriculture, climate monitoring and disaster management.

Who can attend

The official Thailand Space Expo website has a registration page, and the opening ceremony on 28 October, presided over by Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, is for invited and registered participants only. Admission details for general visitors had not been published at the time of writing, so check the official site before you travel.

Getting to ICONSIAM

ICONSIAM sits on the west bank of the Chao Phraya River. The easiest route is usually by train: take the BTS Skytrain to Krung Thon Buri and change to the Gold Line, which stops at Charoen Nakhon Station, connected directly to the building. A shuttle boat from Sathorn Pier, beside BTS Saphan Taksin, is a scenic alternative, though boat arrangements can change, so check before you rely on it. Taxis and ride-hailing work too, but Charoen Nakhon Road can clog up at busy times.

From Suvarnabhumi, the Airport Rail Link runs into the city and connects with the BTS. From Don Mueang, allow extra time and plan your route in advance.

Arriving in Thailand smoothly

File your free Thailand Digital Arrival Card in the three days before you land. Since 15 September 2026, tourists from the UK, Australia, Canada, the US and many other countries can stay up to 30 days without a visa, according to the Tourism Authority of Thailand. If you are attending for work rather than as a tourist, it is worth checking whether your purpose of visit needs anything beyond the visa exemption.

At Suvarnabhumi, Thailand’s auto gates are for returning visitors who meet a few conditions, so first-timers should expect a staffed counter. Fast Track Thailand guides you through a priority immigration lane at Suvarnabhumi or Don Mueang, which helps when you want to arrive fresh for a packed conference day. Our guide to fast track versus regular immigration explains the difference.

Flying home after the expo

The expo closes on 31 October, a Saturday, so flights out of Bangkok that weekend may be busy. Allow generous time at Suvarnabhumi or Don Mueang, and once you are through security, our airport lounge page is worth a look as an optional extra.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are all the events at ICONSIAM?

Not all of them. The expo itself is at ICONSIAM Hall, but the Asia-Pacific Regional Space Agency Forum opens at the Royal Orchid Sheraton Riverside Hotel on 26 to 28 October before moving to ICONSIAM on 29 and 30 October, and the Moon Village Association workshop is on 26 and 27 October. The official site also lists the Millennium Hilton Bangkok alongside ICONSIAM, so check where your session is held.

What language are the sessions in?

Event listings show the expo’s language as English, though individual sessions may vary, so check the programme.

Which Bangkok airport is better for the expo?

Both work. Choose by flight price and schedule, then plan your route to ICONSIAM before you land, especially if you arrive at rush hour.

Whether you are coming for the talks or the technology, a calm arrival helps you make the most of the days.

When you are ready, book Fast Track Thailand for your arrival.
